Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, on Monday addressing officials of the Iranian Statistics Centre called on all citizens to cooperate with the personnel in charge of the census.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Imam Khamenei stressed: Census is a necessity for Iran in order to have accurate figures for proper planning for a logical, rational and ideal future.

Imam Khamenei considered census the basis of programming in different areas and referring to the people’s role in this regard, added, “I urge the Iranian people to fully cooperate with the census personnel and to answer correctly their questions with patience and precision.”

Imam Khamenei called on the country's various organs to cooperate with the Iranian Statistics Centre for conducting the population and housing census, saying, “The Iranian Statistics Centre, too, should diligently carry out its duties in a scientific manner, on the basis of realities and without partiality.”

Stressing that no political or apolitical motive should affect in compiling the data of the census plan, Imam Khamenei told officials of the Statistics Centre said, “You must show practically that collecting the information and data is thoroughly unbiased and based on facts and realities; so that the different organs will have complete trust in the statistics compiled.”

Advising various institutions not to be hasty in presenting statistics, Imam Khamenei reiterated, “The official statistics ought to be announced by the Iranian Statistics Centre as the responsible organ; and then other bodies should disseminate information or plan on the basis of those statistics.”

Concurrent with the first day of the population and housing census Imam Khamenei answered the questions posed by the personnel in-charge of the census to show his cooperation in this national project.
